CONFORMITY
Every product sold in the UK must have undergone the often rigorous process of gaining a Declaration of Conformity and Certification relevant to the product type.
CE certification, Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation & restriction of Chemicals (REACH) and the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) are perhaps the most publicised areas of conformity in a list of at least 12 that may have to be considered for each territory.
Softline work with the Quality Assurance experts, Intertek, to simplify this entire process and give our customers the confidence that every part of their supply chain legally conforms in each territory.
HAZARDOUS GOODS
Softline works closely with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and has staff formally trained by them so that we are fully knowledgeable on the safety, security, efficiency and sustainability around shipping hazardous goods.
Perhaps the most recently reported incidences of this legislation coming into play has been due to Lithium batteries in technology devices posing safety risks, particularly when transported by air.
Softline can help each customer classify, identify, mark, pack, label and complete relevant documentation for hazardous goods shipments.
GDPR
Since 25th May 2018 every one of us should have seen a huge reduction in unwanted promotional emails – this is all down to the new GDPR Privacy Laws and the fear of the ferocious fines that are in place for those who do not comply.
Every company, its processes and the security of their data must work within the confines of GDPR – and it can be a challenging process.
Softline works with each of our customers to ensure any collected personal data is held securely and for valid reasons (such as opted in to marketing). We can help write GDPR compliant policies and undertake GDPR marketing and promotional campaigns on behalf of our customers.
